About iSebenzaBot

iSebenza aggregates South African job listings from original, official sources: employer applicant-tracking systems, SOE careers portals, and the DPSA Public Service Vacancy Circular. This page describes the crawler that does that work.

How the bot behaves

• Honest user-agent: every request identifies itself as iSebenzaBot/1.0 (+https://isebenza.com/bot).
• robots.txt respected: each source's robots.txt is fetched and checked before every crawl, and the result is logged. Sources that disallow generic crawlers are not scraped.
• Rate limited: at most one request per second per host.
• Original sources only: we never scrape other job boards — only employers' own systems and official government publications.
• Attribution: every listing names its source and links back to the employer's own application page. iSebenza never collects applications.
