Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to create, change and maintain relevant master data on Finance Systems.

Ensure accurate, complete and timeous reporting of all transactions posted to the Finance systems and provide relevant administrative and business support.

Job Description

Accountability: Maintain Finance Systems Master Data


• Create, change, and maintain master data on finance systems.

• Improve data quality management by reviewing, enriching masterdata and hierarchy requests.

• Perform checks for master data accuracy and completeness.

• Maintain reporting hierarchies and structures for the general ledger.

 

Accountability: Maintain Finance Systems

• Perform day-to-day FC system administrative tasks.

• Execute metadata and mapping changes.

• Scheduling of relevant daily/monthly and annual jobs.

• Open and closing of financial cycles.

• Perform FC system month end roll over.

• Monitor and manage application performance.

• Monitoring data feeds with relevant data integrity checks.

• Maintain and update relevant general ledger screens, reports and online queries.

• Perform month end processes and escalate system problems including locking of systems at month end.

• Participate in software updates and patches as required.

• Participate in projects aimed at improving and expanding finance applications and/or system functionality. Provide direction and input to enable business units to manage and resolve queries.

• Deliver services that meet and/or exceed service levels/expectations.

• Comply with policies and procedures applicable to the business function.

• Maintain quality of day-to-day business activities.

• Report incidences of non-performance against customer experience requirements

  • Contribute to sustainment of stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Contribute towards co-operative valuable services delivery.
  • Maintain close relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Respond efficiently, ensuring high quality of work and by meeting the required deadlines to ensure the satisfaction of stakeholders.
  • Assist with all Service Now Requests or Incidents raised.
  • Perform problem solving techniques through probing and listening.

 

Accountability:  Risk management, compliance, and controls

  • Ensure critical control on processes are adhered to.
  • Provide input to control assessments.
  • Adhere to all compliance requirements ensure all mandatory training is completed on time.

 

Accountability:  Process management

  • Execution of processes as designed.
  • Constantly review, improve, and maintain own activities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
  • Recommend areas for improvement to reduce cycle times, improve productivity, create capacity, and improve process reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the implementation of new and/or enhanced processes.

 

 Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and team-working skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • The ability to work in a pressured and unstructured environment and to cope with the demands of working to tight deadlines.
  • Basic accounting background

 Education:

  • Grade 12 (NQF level no. 4)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or studying towards one
  • Essential - 3-5 year of banking experience
  • Extensive computer/Microsoft skills, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Preferred SAP S4 Hana experience
