SALARY : R932 292 per annum (Level 11), All-inclusive package to be structured in

accordance with the rules for MMS.

CENTRE : Cape Town

REQUIREMENTS : National Senior Certificate (or equivalent) and an appropriate Bachelors'

degree or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years' management experience. A valid

driver’s licence (excluding code A/A1) Knowledge: Knowledge of Examination

policies and regulations; policies of the government of the day; Constitutional,

legal and institutional arrangements governing the South Africa public sector;

inter-governmental relations; Policy Development; Project management. Skills:

Strategic Management; Strong conceptual and formulation; leadership, with

specific reference to the ability to display thought leadership in complex

applications; Team building and strong inter-personal.

DUTIES : Managing of the certification process: Issuing certificates to full-time learners.

Issuing certificates to part-time learners (combinations). Manage the releasing

of results: Manage the testing of result programmes. Manage the process of

addressing outstanding / missing marks. Manage the remarking process.

Manage the verification of results / certification. Manage client enquiries:

Ensure all enquiries are addressed effectively. Analyse enquiry reports to

ascertain areas of improvement. Manage and co-ordinate the examination

registration process: Entry forms for the registration of candidates. Registration

of the exam and designated centres. Registration of invigilators. Manage

compilation of Examination Circulars and Minutes. Management of Human

Resources and Finance: Participation in the recruitment of staff in the numbers

and grades appropriate to ensure the achievement of the Directorate's

Business Plan. Motivate, train and guide staff within the Directorate, to achieve

and maintain excellence in service delivery. Actively manage the performance,

evaluation and rewarding of staff within the Directorate. Monitor information

capacity building within the Directorate. Active involvement in the compilation

of a human resource plan, a service delivery improvement programme, and an

information resources plan for the Directorate. Promote sound labour relations

within the Directorate. Actively manage and promote the maintenance of

discipline within the Directorate. Perform all the managerial tasks regarding the

component. Transformation Management. Give strategic direction to and

manage policy issues regarding the functions of the components under his/her

command. Communicate on a managerial level regarding the functions of the

component. Manage the budget of the sub-directorate. Provide input to

Directorate’s budgets.
