POST 25/568 : DEPUTY MANAGER NURSING (LEVEL 1 AND 2 HOSPITAL)

SALARY : R1 069 215 per annum, (A portion of the package can be structured according

to the individual's personal needs.)

CENTRE : Stikland Hospital

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.

diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R880) that

allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a

Professional Nurse. Registration with a professional council: Registration with

the SANC as Professional Nurse. Experience: A minimum of 9 years

appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as

Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 4 years of the

period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at

management level. Inherent requirement of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s

licence. Willingness to perform standby after hours and over weekends/public

holidays when required. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of

Nursing administration, Nursing Education, Quality Improvement, Infection

Prevention and Control and Occupational Health strategies in health.

Computer literacy in MS Office packages. Excellent verbal and written

communication skills.

DUTIES : Provide strategic management and leadership to the nursing department.

Oversee clinical governance and service delivery of nursing department.

Effective people management of nursing services which include nursing

personnel, HR matters, Staff development and staff support. Manage allocated

budgets which include, Nursing Personnel, Agency, and Overtime, Budget,

Equipment, Vetting and Asset Management.
