CENTRE : Dohne Research Station (Stutterheim)

REQUIREMENTS : MSc degree in Pasture Science or relevant qualification. 6 years post-

qualification natural scientific experience. Compulsory registration with the

South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a

professional Natural Scientist. Technical Competencies: Scientific

methodologies and models. Research and development. Computer-aided

scientific applications. Knowledge of legal compliance. Technical report writing.

Creating a high-performance culture. Professional judgment. Data analysis.

Policy development and analysis. Scientific presentation. Mentoring. Generic

competencies: Strategic capability and leadership. Decision making. Team

leadership. Creativity. Financial management. Customer focus and

responsiveness. Communication. Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Excel and

MS PPT). Networking. Planning, organising and execution. Conflict
