MANAGER (REVENUE PROTECTION)
Job Purpose:
To provide a revenue protection service within the Section by ensuring that non-technical energy losses on the distribution network are kept to a minimum, customers who are in arrears are effectively disconnected in order to tighten credit control and customers who have settled or made arrangement to settle their account are reconnected timeously.
Key Responsibility Areas:
•Manage administrative and technical functions in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations.
•Prepare the Sections financial budgets (capital and operating) and control expenditure within such approved budgets.
•Supervise subordinate staff performance and take remedial action where necessary.
•Responsible for maintaining effective industrial relations.
•Provide input in the drafting of tender specifications and the adjudication thereof.
•Responsible for the routine meter replacement within the prescribed period.
•Responsible for material issued to contractors and reconciliation thereof.
•Responsible for administrative functions in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
•Liaise with and attend to customers and/or their legal representatives in respect of queries.
•Actively support and promote safety and accident prevention in the workplace.
•Assist in establishing and maintaining effective Revenue Protection procedures.
•Monitor the performance of external security staff and investigator that are required to provide the following
•Check and verify contractor’s invoices and attend to any revenue protection related issues.

Essential Requirements:
•Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (NQF Level 7) in Electrical Engineering.
•Registered as a Professional Electrical Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
•Valid motor vehicle driving license.
•5 Years relevant post registration experience.
Special Conditions:
1. 40 hour, 5 day week-flexi-time. Flexi hours to be agreed with the Deputy Head.
2. Telephone Allowance.
3.Protective Clothing as per the PPE Schedule.
4. Overtime Category: II.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically capable of carrying out the duties of the post.
