Key Responsibility Areas:
• Comprehensive management of municipal nature reserve, natural areas, community conservation projects and Metropolitan Open Spaces.
• Ensures the protection and responsible management of functioning ecosystems and the rehabilitation of abused natural environments.
• Manages, administers and trains allocated staff.
• Allocates, monitors and controls expenditure of allocated zone operating budget.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual capital and operating budgets.
• Undertakes asset management for the branch.
• Communicates, liaises and interacts with communities and stakeholders to build strong relationships and develop well informed communities with open communication structures.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, regulations and Acts.

Essential Requirements:
• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Nature Conservation or Environmental Management or Zoology or any other equivalent and related qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 5 years relevant experience in nature conservation environment of which 2 years must be at a supervisory level.
• Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements:
• Degree (NQF Level 7) in Nature Conservation or Environmental Management or Zoology or any other equivalent and related qualification.
• 6 years relevant experience in nature conservation environment of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level.
