Job Description
The Financial Educator and Worksite Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality retirement fund member education and enabling meaningful workplace engagement for members of retirement funds administered by Old Mutual.The role facilitates structured education sessions, demonstrates digital tools available to members, supports awareness of preservation and default annuity strategies, and helps connect members to appropriate advice where required.
The incumbent works closely with internal stakeholders, employers, intermediaries and business partners to implement the worksite model, enhance member understanding across the member journey, and contribute to improved member outcomes, engagement and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate structured member education sessions, both virtual and in person, in line with the approved training calendar and ad hoc business requirements.
- Educate members on how to engage with the Fund and demonstrate the digital tools and platforms available to support them throughout their member journey.
- Promote the use of digital attendance registers and feedback tools for all member sessions to support accurate tracking, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Partner with internal Consulting, Growth and Retention teams to support workplace initiatives, identify opportunities and contribute to new business development.
- Coordinate and participate in quarterly forums with internal stakeholders to create awareness of education and worksite initiatives.
- Identify and generate qualified leads for the linked financial adviser from member sessions and workplace engagements.
- Create awareness of the digital claims process for members exiting or leaving the Fund.
- Create awareness among members, employers and intermediaries of the Fund’s preservation and annuitisation strategy through financial wellbeing and worksite engagements.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of legislative, regulatory and industry developments relevant to retirement funds and member education.
- Compile accurate and insightful management information and reports on member session activity, engagement trends and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support existing clients and internal consulting teams with worksite acquisition, activation and member engagement initiatives through financial wellbeing programme activities.
- Contribute as an effective team member in support of the broader Corporate strategy and business objectives.
- Ensure full compliance with legislative, regulatory and internal governance requirements relevant to the role.
- Implement agreed initiatives to achieve production targets, deliverables and business outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, employers, intermediaries and other key business partners.
Experience & Capabilities
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in financial services, preferably within retirement funds, employee benefits or a related member-facing environment.
- At least 3 years’ experience facilitating training or education sessions for small and large groups (Understanding of vernacular language, Zulu, Sotho & Tswane will be advantageous)
- Experience in retirement income, annuity products or related member advisory environments will be advantageous.
- Experience with or understanding of member-facing digital tools within the Old Mutual Corporate environment will be advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel, with flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Own transport and a valid driver’s license are essential.
- Relevant qualification at NQF Level 7.

- Facilitating in Vernacular language (Zulu, Sotho, Tswane)
