Purpose of Job
A Maintenance Operator assists an Artisan with the installation and maintenance of Plant Equipment, supporting production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.
Key Accountabilities
- Do routine maintenance inspections and tasks;
- Report on deviations and defects to foreman or plant artisan;
- Assist Artisans in daily activities;
- Correction of inspection defects;
- Maintain good housekeeping;
- Service and general maintenance on mechanical equipment;
- Adherence to quality and safety systems;
- Hazard identification/task risk assessments.
Formal Education
- Grade 12 or Equivalent with Maths & Science;
- Code 08 driver’s license.
Working experience
- Between 3-5 years’ experience in an Explosives Plant;
- Must be able to work shifts;
- Must be able to work overtime.
