Artisan Fitter

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Artisan Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will primarily focus on the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime within the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit components and machinery according to specifications and drawings.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on equipment to identify and rectify issues.
- Install and align machinery and equipment, ensuring proper operation.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, adjustments, and replacements made to equipment.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards during all fitting activities.
- Utilize hand and power tools effectively while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Train and mentor junior fitters and apprentices as necessary to build team capacity and skills.

Requirements
- Proven track record in a fitting or mechanical environment with a strong understanding of machinery components.
- Demonstrable experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving abilities in hands-on applications.
- Proficient in the use of various hand and power tools relevant to fitting and assembly.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Technical N3, Fitter and Turner Trade Test
- Three years practical exposure on basic hand tools and electrical tools
- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and procedures.
- Additional certifications in safety or specialized machinery operation will be a plus.
- Valid Drivers License
