Divisional Manager - Irrigation & Plumbing Department

About this role

Purpose:                             The role aims to drive sales growth, maximise profitability and increase account penetration within a designated territory or market segment.  Key responsibilities include effectively selling company products and services, sourcing new customers, following up on leads and maintaining existing business relationships to deliver exceptional customer service, driving sales and promoting business growth, ultimately contributing to sustainable profit margins. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Maintain and achieve 10% monthly growth.
  • Manage business operations in assigned division to achieve company goals.
  • Evaluate divisional performance, identify areas of improvement and recommend and implement new strategies for performance improvement.
  • Resolve business issues, address customer and team enquiries and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, including recruitment, training and development.
  • Identify resources, assign workloads, and manage schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation promotion, retention and termination activities.
  • Identify skill gaps and provide appropriate training for team members.
  • Drive operational efficiency, implement best practices and maintain quality and productivity
  • Identify cost-reduction initiatives, manage stock efficiently and reduce dormant stock levels
  • Identify areas of improvement and concern and develop action plans.
  • Prepare and submit monthly SWOT reports and action plans
  • Reduce dormant in the division.
  • Manage stock efficiently in the department.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric or Equivalent
  • Minimum NQF Level 5 in Business related studies
  • 5 years managerial experience
  • 10 years Hardware Retail experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Have a valid Driver’s Licence
  • Have own vehicle (advantage)
  • Dispute management & Prevention training
  • Ability to deal with ER (Initiate & Chairing Disciplinary Enquiry)
  • Training/Experience with Talent Acquisition
  • Excellent team leader with self-motivation
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to communicate clearly & effectively (verbal & written) at all levels
  • Leadership Skills (monitoring, evaluations, planning, time management & organizing skills)
  • Analytical, Problem solving, conflict resolution & employee relations skills
  • Good customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Operational and people management skills
  • Microsoft Office (Internet, E-mails, Word & Excel)
