Culture Coordinator - Midrand

About this role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for Culture Coordinator to join the Head Office team. The purpose of the role is to support and coordinate multiple activities related to change and culture plans whilst fostering a culture of effective communication within Dis-Chem group. Actively engage with multiple stakeholders and deliver service excellence.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:
  • Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, psychology or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of work experience
  • Working knowledge of change management principles and employee engagement practice
  • Competency in quantitative and qualitative research methodology — designing, deploying, and analysing surveys and feedback instruments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with digital communication or design tools (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Forms)

Advantage:

  • Experience in a retail, FMCG, or large multi-site operating environment
  • Exposure to culture measurement or employee engagement survey platforms

Job Specification...

Culture Activation & Execution

  • Coordinate and support the on-the-ground execution of the annual Culture Action Plan across assigned business areas (Head Office, Retail Stores, Warehousing & DC, Security).
  • Facilitate and support the rollout of the Dis-Chem Micro Formula for Success — actively driving awareness and adoption of culture enablers and targeted reduction of culture disablers.
  • Support Culture Champs activation: coordinate meetings, distribute resources, and maintain records of Culture Champ activity by site.
  • Assist the execution of the culture plan and provide support. 
  • Track culture initiative progress against milestones and provide regular status updates to the Culture Partner and Culture Manager.

Culture Measurement & Data Support

  • Design and deploy employee surveys, pulse checks, and feedback instruments using appropriate platforms.
  • Accurately capture, clean, and organise data from culture measurement activities in preparation for analysis by Culture Manager.
  • Track the Culture Index Score at a site and segment level, maintaining a dashboard of trend data across HO, Retail, Warehouse & Logistics, and Security.
  • Prepare clear, accurate data summaries and feedback reports for internal use
  • Monitor engagement metrics across communication channels and initiative touchpoints, identifying patterns and reporting anomalies.
  • Support the conversion of insight to action — capturing employee feedback themes and mapping these against planned culture interventions

Employee Engagement & Event Coordination

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute culture-related events and employee engagement activities — including town halls, Culture Champs workshops, recognition moments, and department activations.
  • Manage end-to-end event logistics: venue, materials, speakers, attendance tracking, and post-event reporting.
  • Facilitate feedback loops during and after events to measure employee experience and engagement quality.
  • Support the design and delivery for culture immersion sessions and change management workshops.

Stakeholder Liaison & Administrative Support

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a point of coordination between the culture team and stakeholders at store, warehouse, and HO level, ensuring aligned messaging and smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for all culture department activities, including scheduling, meeting coordination, tracker management, and filing.
  • Maintain up-to-date stakeholder mapping documentation and engagement logs for all assigned areas.
  • Prepare and distribute action trackers, meeting minutes, and follow-up communications on behalf of the department.
  • Support onboarding coordination for new store openings by ensuring culture readiness materials are prepared.

Communication Planning & Content

  • Develop and implement internal communication plans that support culture change initiatives, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with the organisation's tone, values, and brand.
  • Produce high-quality communication content — including emails, newsletters, intranet updates, digital screen content, presentation materials, and video scripts — tailored to diverse employee audiences.
  • Apply storytelling and visual communication techniques to enhance message impact and employee recall.
  • Manage digital and multi-channel communication to reach store-level, DC, and HO employees consistently.
  • Maintain a communication calendar for all culture initiatives, ensuring timely and coordinated delivery.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide timely and accurate reports on culture initiative status, stakeholder engagement, communication delivery, and event outcomes.
  • Maintain and update the department's culture tracking tools, dashboards, and reporting templates.
  • Contribute to post-initiative reviews: evaluating what worked, identifying improvement areas, and recommending adjustments for future rollouts.
  • Actively identify operational process improvements that increase the department's efficiency and delivery quality.
