SALARY : R487 197 – R573 897 per annum (Level 09), an all-inclusive remuneration

REQUIREMENTS : National Senior Certificate plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in
Public Administration, Public Management / Business Management / Strategic
Management / Management Sciences / Business Administration /
Development studies/ Policy & Development Management / Monitoring &
Evaluation / Project Management / Organizational Development/ Economics /
Management Sciences / Governance / Development planning / Operations
management / Social Sciences. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience at
supervisory level 7/8 in strategic management/planning. Knowledge of Public
Service Act, (Batho Pele Principles), PFMA, and Framework and Guideline for
Departmental Strategic Plans and Annual Performance Plans. Application of
planning methodology. Basic project management. Strategic formulation and
implementation. Public sector governance framework. Communication (verbal
and written). Problem solving and analysis. Planning and organising.
Knowledge management. Diversity management. Budgeting and financial
management. Basic research skills. Willingness to drive long Hours. Computer
literacy. Thorough Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Incumbent must have
worked in strategic planning or monitoring and evaluation. Competencies:
Development and operational effectiveness, good people skill & teamwork,
results orientated, self-starter, presentation and communication skills. A valid
driving license is required.
DUTIES : Coordinate operational and strategic planning processes. Facilitate the
development, review, and alignment of strategic and operational plans in line
with organisational objectives, policies, and legislative requirements. Facilitate
planning sessions and provide guidance to business units on strategic planning
processes, frameworks, and methodologies. Support the development of
performance plans, implementation plans, and related planning
documentation. Monitor progress against approved plans and identify risks,
challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Compile strategic planning
reports, dashboards, and briefing documents for management consideration.
Ensure effective coordination between strategic priorities, operational
activities, and resource allocation. Facilitate the identification of service
delivery challenges and support the development of improvement plans and
interventions. Facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure service delivery
initiatives are responsive to organisational and stakeholder needs. Support the
implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of service delivery improvement
initiatives. Analyse performance information and provide recommendations to
enhance efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service delivery. Track
implementation progress and prepare reports on improvement initiatives,
outcomes, and areas requiring intervention. Promote continuous improvement
practices across the organisation. Coordinate and support the implementation
of priority programmes /projects. Facilitate the planning, implementation, and
monitoring of priority programmes and strategic projects. Provide project
coordination support, including tracking milestones, deliverables, risks, and
dependencies. Facilitate collaboration among internal and external
stakeholders involved in priority initiatives. Monitor project performance against
approved objectives, timelines, and outcomes. Prepare progress reports,
presentations, and updates for management and relevant governance
structures. Support the resolution of implementation challenges to ensure
successful delivery of strategic priorities. Management of administration
support. Give input in the development of policies and operational plans.
Compile and submit monthly and quarterly reports. Determine and verify the
authenticity of the evidence provided. Attend and respond to audit matters.
Supervise human resources. Maintain staff discipline.
