CENTRE : Leratong Hospital

REQUIREMENTS : Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical

Specialist (Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine and Fellowship of the

college of South Africa). Minimum of 3 years’ experience after registration with

HPCSA as a Medical specialist. MBCHB and Current registration with HPCSA

as a specialist. Be able to work commuted overtime. Computer literacy and

additional experience in management or supervision will be an added

advantage.

DUTIES : Clinical leadership and Governance in the Internal Medicine department. Co-

ordinate all clinical and administration services in the department. Improved

patient experience of care. Maintain satisfactory clinical, professional, and

ethical standards related to these services. Reduction of waiting time of

Operations. Ensure effective and efficient specialist services to contribute to

optimal and quality health care in line with the vison, mission, and values of

Gauteng department of health. Ensure compliance to SOP’s and clinical

Protocols. Supervision and effective utilization of medical staff. Responsible for

training and teaching of Medical Interns, junior doctors, and medical students.

Assist in the implementation of DOH policies and programmes. Full

participation in Quality assurance, management of PSI’s and complaints.

Participate in academic activities in the hospital and in the cluster. The potential

candidate should be highly skilled in performing clinical work and take part in

commuted overtime.
