SALARY : Grade 1: R1 041 402 per annum

Grade 2: R1 188 255 per annum

Grade 3: R1 375 245 per annum

CENTRE : Stikland Hospital

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows

registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as

Practitioner. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the

HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Experience: Grade 1: None after registration

as Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA in respect of SA-qualified employees.

One (1) year’s relevant experience after registration as Medical Practitioner

with a recognised foreign Health Professional Council in respect of foreign-

qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service

as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of Five (5) appropriate

experience as Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA as a

Medical Practitioner in respect of SA-qualified employees. A minimum of six (6)

relevant experience after registration as Medical Practitioner with a recognised

foreign Health Professional Council in respect of foreign-qualified employees,

of whom required to perform community service required in South Africa.

Grade 3: A minimum of Ten (10) year’s appropriate experience as a Medical

Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner in

respect of SA-qualified employees. A minimum of eleven (11) year’s relevant

experience after registration as Medical Practitioner with a recognised foreign

Health Professional Council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom

it is not required to perform Community Service as required in South Africa.

Inherent requirements of the job: Willing and able to work shifts. Willing and

able to work with patients with infectious diseases Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s

license and willingness and ability to travel. Available and willing to participate

in after-hours duties. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Appropriate experience

in Psychiatry. Excellent clinical consultation, management and procedural

skills. Computer literacy. Good professional attitude. Excellent communication

skills. Ability to work well both in a team or as an individual.

DUTIES : Provide comprehensive medical and psychiatric care to patients by diagnosing

and treating illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions. Formulate and

manage treatment plans, including medication and therapies. Maintain

accurate and detailed patient records both electronically and paper based.

Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers when necessary.

Complete the required CPD activities to maintain registration with the HPCSA.

Complete and submit required medical reports and documentation for legal and

administrative purposes. Uphold the reputation and integrity of the medical

profession.
