POST 26/235 : STATE ACCOUNTANT: MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING REF NO: DOI

SALARY : R413 001 - R486 501 per annum (Level 08)

CENTRE : Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government

REQUIREMENTS : An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher

qualification) in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field; A

minimum of 3 years relevant experience in management accounting,

budgeting, or a financial project management environment. Competencies:

Knowledge of the following: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and

Treasury Regulations; Management accounting principles (budgeting,

monitoring and reporting); Government financial systems (e.g. BAS, LOGIS,

SCOA); Applicable legislative, regulatory and governance frameworks;

Financial analysis, data management and reporting methodologies. Skills in

the following: Financial analysis and reporting; Budgeting and forecasting;

Computer literacy (intermediate or advanced MS Excel, MS Word, MS

Outlook); Numeracy and analytical thinking; Planning and organising;

Communication (written and verbal); Problem-solving and decision-making;

Data management and reconciliation; Report writing and presentation;

Stakeholder engagement; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

Attention to detail and accuracy.

DUTIES : Provide Budget Planning and Preparation; Provide Budget Support and

Financial Control; Calculate Adjustments Estimate and Main Budget

Development; Maintain Financial Governance, Compliance and Stakeholder

Support.
