Job Purpose

The Online Distance Learning (ODL) Unit invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Coordinator: Integrated Student Recruitment Marketing.


The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing integrated student recruitment, marketing and communication strategies that increase awareness, applications and enrolments for the University's Online Distance Learning programmes. The incumbent will lead data-driven marketing initiatives, digital campaigns, stakeholder engagement and recruitment activities that support the University's strategic enrolment management objectives.

 

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in one of the following:
  • Strategic Marketing
  • Marketing
  • Digital Marketing
  • Communication
  • Public Relations
  • Brand Management
  • or a related field.


Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in:
  • Student recruitment;
  • Strategic or digital marketing;
  • Marketing campaign management;
  • Website content management;
  • Social media management;
  • Marketing communications; and
  • Stakeholder engagement.


Recommendations

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Higher Education marketing and student recruitment.
  • Strategic enrolment management.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Marketing automation platforms.
  • Google Analytics and digital marketing analytics.
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).

 

Key Competencies

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Develop and implement integrated student recruitment and marketing strategies.
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Conduct market research and analyse recruitment trends to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Develop engaging marketing and communication content for digital and print platforms.
  • Manage website content and social media platforms.
  • Build productive relationships with academic departments, schools, employers and other stakeholders.
  • Analyse recruitment data and prepare management reports.
  • Coordinate multiple recruitment campaigns, projects and events simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work independently while managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing integrated student recruitment and marketing strategies aligned with institutional enrolment objectives.
  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring recruitment and marketing campaigns across traditional and digital platforms.
  • Conducting market research and identifying new recruitment opportunities and target markets.
  • Managing the development and maintenance of content for the ODL website, digital platforms and promotional materials.
  • Coordinating social media marketing campaigns and monitoring online engagement.
  • Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with academic departments, schools, employers, industry and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinating recruitment events, Open Days, exhibitions, webinars and other promotional activities.
  • Managing prospective student enquiries and supporting student conversion initiatives.
  • Maintaining recruitment databases and CRM systems.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and preparing analytical reports to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with University branding standards, governance requirements and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
  • Performing other duties consistent with the purpose and level of the position as assigned by the Line Manager.

 

Special Requirements

  • Valid Code EB Driver's Licence.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays during peak recruitment periods and institutional events.
  • Ability to represent the University professionally at internal and external engagements.
  • High level of digital literacy and proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

Status of Position

Fixed-Term Contract until 31 December 2026
(Renewable subject to institutional requirements, funding availability and satisfactory performance.)
