STAKEHOLDER AND CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR

The Stakeholder and Campaign Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating stakeholder engagement activities and institutional campaigns. The role builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supports the delivery of high-impact campaigns, and ensures consistent communication that reflects DUT’s values, transformation agenda, and strategic priorities. This position requires strong communication skills, organisational ability, and experience in campaign implementation within higher education or corporate environments.

Minimum Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Social Sciences or Marketing.
Recommended Education Requirement:
  • Relevant Honours qualification in Marketing/Public Relations, Social Sciences or other appropriate discipline (NQF Level 8)
Minimum Experience Requirement:
  • 5 years in higher education or corporate communications with campaign delivery responsibilities.
Recommended Experience Requirement:
  • 7 years’ experience in higher education or corporate communications, with campaign delivery responsibilities.
Key Competencies Requirements Minimum:

  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement, event planning, and campaign management.
  • Strong communication, writing, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • MS Office proficiency and familiarity with digital communication tools.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Experience in higher education, branding, advocacy, and social media marketing. (Ideal)
Legal Requirements
  • POPIA compliance knowledge for stakeholder data management.
  • Driver’s License is advantageous.
Training and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of DUT’s communication and marketing strategy.
  • Familiarity with institutional stakeholder priorities.
  • Experience in campaign roll-out and monitoring systems.
  • Awareness of branding, media, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Council and EXCO reporting processes.

Special Requirements
  • Willingness to work after hours during events or campaign deadlines.
  • Ability to travel between campuses and stakeholder sites.
  • Commitment to DUT’s inclusivity, engagement, and transformation agenda.
Key Duties
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; plan and deliver engagement events; track feedback and report outcomes.
  • Plan and execute advocacy and awareness campaigns; manage branding, logistics, and budgets; monitor performance and compile evaluation reports.
  • Draft campaign materials, newsletters, and digital content; support media liaison; manage social media elements and stakeholder databases.
  • Track activities against KPIs; prepare dashboards and reports; conduct surveys; ensure compliance with POPIA.
  • Maintain records; provide logistical support; manage budgets; coordinate travel and procurement forevents.
