TECHNICIAN
Minimum requirements

Degree/ BTech (NQF 7)in Town and Regional Planning with GIS/CAD capability
3 years relevant experience, with at least 1 year of GIS experience post qualification in a relevant discipline.

Added advantage

Registration as a candidate planner with SACPLAN will be an added advantage.
Evidence of experience with ESRI courses will be an advantage.
Experience in computer lab network maintenance
Experience in computer software installation and updates

Summary of Duties:

Support the Planning Design modules with CAD and GIS demonstrations and plan preparation.
Responsible for the general maintenance of all labs and lecture venues in the Department of Town and Regional Planning, including the GIS/CAD lab.
Attend to purchase requisitions in the classrooms and labs.
Assist with the resolution of challenges that impact teaching and learning.

The successful candidate must ensure that GIS/CAD is functional for the delivery of lectures. In addition, they are also expected to make sure the new gis/cad software is installed in all the designated labs.
