About this role

Woolworths Taste has an exciting opportunity for a creative, detail- oriented Graphic Design Intern.

Under the mentorship of our Senior Multimedia Designer, you will assist in creating visual assets for digital and print media, refining your technical skills, and learning real-world design agency workflows.

 

 What you’ll be doing…

This is a 12-month internship where you’ll do cool things like:   

  • Assist with creating designs for both print and digital platforms, including magazine pages, social media, emails, website content and digital campaigns.
  • Ensure all artwork follows the Woolworths TASTE brand guidelines and maintains a consistent look and feel.
  • Organise and manage design files, templates and image libraries to keep assets up to date.
  • Work closely with the TASTE creative team, contributing ideas and supporting design projects from concept to final artwork.
  • Apply feedback and make design changes accurately and efficiently throughout the creative process.

The official stuff…

This is an internship, so we don’t expect five years of work experience (in fact, we expect none!). But there are a few things we do need you to have, these include:  

  • Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a qualification in
    Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • A portfolio that shows your design work and creative skills.
  • A keen eye for detail, good organisational skills, the ability to manage your time, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

  • Based in Cape Town (you will be required to come into the office every day)
  • Willing to learn, ask questions and apply what you’ve learnt
  • Able to manage multiple projects and prioritise your tasks well
  • Curious and interested in the work you do and the media and content marketing industry in general
  • Able to communicate clearly and ask questions when you need to
  • Passionate about the work you do and do it to the highest quality standards
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
