Job Description
We are looking for an experienced property professional To lead and manage Corporate Property Managements (CPM) leasing, real estate portfolio, and workspace design functions to ensure effective acquisition, utilisation, optimisation, and governance of office space and property assets.The role is responsible for delivering commercially sound leasing solutions, managing workplace environments, professionalising engagement with tenants and enabling business growth through strategic property and workspace initiatives.
The incumbent will oversee leasing transactions, occupancy planning, office design standards, landlord relationships, and workspace transformation programmes while ensuring alignment to financial, operational, and employee experience objectives.
Key Result Areas/Outputs
Mutual Park and No.1 Mutual Place are multi-tenanted office and retail spaces which are rented out to Old Mutual businesses and subsidiaries, as well as external parties. All activities are governed by the 6-star and 5-star new building Green rating certification.
This role is accountable for the delivery of a team of 8 and is responsible to:
oversee the end-to-end leasing lifecycle—from marketing vacant space and screening prospective tenants to negotiating lease terms and managing renewals
lease administration: Draft, negotiate, and execute lease agreements, amendments, and renewals in alignment with commercial terms
tenant relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for resident inquiries, complaints, and move-in/move-out processes
market research: Monitor local rental rates, occupancy trends, and competitor offerings to optimize pricing strategies
manage the pipeline of lease renewals
introducing standardised practices, operating procedures and documentation to enhance efficiency and governance in leasing management and office space design
design of the workspace according to business requirements and agreed house rules and
manage project budgets related to office moves
Support relocations, and new office establishment projects
Drive sustainability initiatives within the property portfolio
Develop workplace utilization reporting and analytics
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum Work Experience:
8 years relevant experience in Corporate Property, Real Estate Management, Facilities Management, and/ or Portfolio Management
5 years management experience leading teams and service providers
Proven experience in lease negotiations, landlord management, and multi-site property portfolios
Demonstrated experience in office fit-outs, workplace design, relocations, and refurbishment programmes
Experience engaging senior stakeholders and executives
Minimum Education Requirements:
Matric
Registered Property Practitioner
Fidelity Fund Certification
Relevant Post matric qualification, particularly management of real estate operations or Financial qualification
Additional Qualifications and/or Experience:
SAPOA / SAFMA / PMP or equivalent professional membership
