This role is responsible for supporting data driven decision making across the business by analysing, interpreting, and reporting on data from various sources. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to understand information needs, produce meaningful insights, and develop reporting solutions that help improve customer outcomes, business performance, and operational efficiency.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and validating data, creating reports and dashboards, monitoring key performance indicators, and identifying trends and opportunities within the data. The role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
The successful candidate will contribute to building a culture of evidence based decision making by transforming data into actionable insights that support business objectives and strategic priorities. KEY RESULT AREAS

Data Analysis and Insights

• Analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
• Perform exploratory analysis to answer business questions and support decision making.
• Translate data findings into clear and actionable business insights.

Reporting and Visualisation

• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business requirements.
• Present findings in a clear and easy to understand manner for both technical and non technical audiences.

Data Collection and Preparation

• Collect, clean, validate, and prepare data for analysis and reporting purposes.
• Assist in maintaining data quality by identifying inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies.
• Work with data owners to resolve data quality issues where required.

Business Requirements Support

• Engage with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
• Translate business needs into reporting specifications and analytical outputs.
• Support the development of measurement frameworks and key performance indicators.

Performance Improvement through Analytics

• Support business teams by identifying opportunities for operational and customer experience improvements through data analysis.
• Monitor business performance metrics and highlight significant changes or emerging trends.
• Contribute to evidence based recommendations that support business objectives.

Data Governance and Controls

• Follow data governance, privacy, and security standards when handling data.
• Ensure data used for reporting and analysis meets defined quality and compliance requirements.
• Maintain clear documentation of reports, data sources, and business definitions.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Respond to reporting requests and provide analytical support to business users.
• Assist in communicating analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Personal Capability Building

• Develop knowledge of analytical tools, reporting platforms, and banking products.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.
• Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities to build analytical capability.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Preferably Bachelors Degree.
• 1 to 2 years experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar analytical role.
• Experience working with Power BI.
• Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Exposure to Python, R, or other analytical tools would be advantageous.
• Experience within the banking or financial services industry would be advantageous.
