Who are we?
Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM] (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focusses on retail products, as well as group schemes.
SA Retail Mass cluster offers a unique opportunity for young, enthusiastic and energetic persons from the designated groups to gain practical working experience in a corporate environment. The learnership programme is aimed at matriculants.

- Carry out tasks and duties as contracted with your manager
What will you do?
- Answer inbound calls and assist clients with enquiries.
- Provide customer service via telephone, email, and WhatsApp.
- Capture, update, and maintain client information on company systems.
- Assist clients with policy-related requests and general administration.
- Process policy changes, including contact detail and beneficiary updates.
- Capture and route documents to the correct teams and systems.
- Provide clients with updates on requests and service enquiries.
- Support the processing of claims and follow up on outstanding documentation when required.
- Ensure all customer records and documents are accurate and up to date.
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and within agreed service standards.
What will make you successful in this role?
- Applicants must be South African citizens
- Not be currently employed
- Be aged between 18 and 35 years
- Not have completed a previous learnership
- Be willing to commit to complete the 12-month programme
