Purpose of Job
To provide a Rotating equipment maintenance, project and reliability service to the Sasol Business units serviced by Rotating Equipment on the Sasol site.
Key Accountabilities
Operational, Financial and Technical Results:
- Manage group of maintenance foreman,fitters and assistants, performing maintenance on turbo machinery.
- Ensure that critical rotating equipment is reliable and available through technical assistance and quality control during maintenance work.
- Plan and determine cost for maintenance overhauls and improvement projects on rotating equipment.
- Technical expert regarding specifications, controls and fault diagnostics on rotating equipment.
- Technical scope for refurbishment of critical spares
Leadership and Growth Results:
- Personal development within the rotating equipment environment
- Support company values and safety standards
Customer and Relationships Results:
- Liaise with customers regarding their machines and ensure they are kept up to date on the status of projects and maintenance work.
- Assist customers to get optimum performance from their equipment.
- Provide commissioning assistance
Management Results:
- Manage artisans and assistants
- Liaise with technical specialists where required
- Manage subcontractors providing services for a project/shutdown.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with ISO 9001-2000 procedures.
- Ensure compliance to quality standards and procedures as specified in the quality documentation for overhauls.
Innovation and Improvement Results:
- Continuous improvement of existing practices/procedures(simpler, quicker, better)
- Implementation of new technology or ideas to improve our machines availability and reliability.
Formal Education
- National Diploma or S4 (Mechanical) (NQF Level 5) and a B-Tech (Mechanical)
Work Experience
- At least 5 years Rotating equipment,turbo, maintenance and project experience
- Management of a technical/maintenance group
- Faultfinding and Root cause failure analysis.
- Condition monitoring of equipment.
- Management of small maintenance projects.
Licenses
Valid Code 08 driver's license
