About this role

Stefanutti Stocks is seeking a motivated and technically strong MEP Manager to join our Western Cape Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities on construction projects. Work on high-profile construction projects and be part of an experienced and respected engineering and construction team.

The role focuses on ensuring that MEP systems are properly planned, procured, installed, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within programme and budget. May be required to work away from home base.


Key Responsibilities

Construction & Project Coordination

  • Manage and coordinate all MEP construction activities on site.
  • Implement company procedures and project objectives for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain construction programmes and long-lead procurement schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure project documentation, reporting, and records are maintained.
  • Support the implementation of project quality plans.

Cost & Contract Management

  • Assist with managing project costs and contractual requirements related to MEP works.
  • Ensure timely procurement of labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors.
  • Review and assist with monthly cost reports.
  • Support the Quantity Surveyor with variations, approvals, and new rates.
  • Ensure contractual and project documentation requirements are met.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)

  • Implement the project Health & Safety Plan in line with construction regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor safety compliance on site and address non-conformances.
  • Ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Attend design, planning, and progress meetings.
  • Work with local authorities to ensure regulatory compliance where required.
  • Coordinate communication with subcontractors and construction teams.

Team Support & Supervision

  • Support the management of site staff and subcontractors.
  • Monitor performance and ensure work aligns with project objectives.
  • Assist with maintaining effective labour relations on site.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.


Experience

  • 5–8 years’ experience in construction projects with MEP exposure.
  • Experience in:
    • Construction and contract management
    • Project planning and implementation
    • Cost and commercial management
    • Team supervision


Technical Knowledge
