Team Leader – Retail Client Service

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our dynamic and growing LISP, within the Retail Operations Team. You will be responsible for the leadership of a diverse and multi-talented group of consultants as well as managing the daily operational requirements/processes in alignment with the value structures of the broader retail department. You will be measured, amongst others, on the outputs of an engaged and motivated workforce; the maintenance of stable and autonomous operations; and the application of well-balanced service and compliance principles to those processes.

DUTIES AND DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• People Management: Engage and invest in people.
• Motivate and influence staff toward a culture that promotes accountability and service excellence.
• Develop and retain talent.
• Maintain the stability of the team.
• Creating, analysing and reporting on key metrics of the team
• Responding pro-actively to analyses, findings and recommendations from various sources (such as KPA data, Risk Events, Quality- and Knowledge Assessments).
• Implementing processes and controls to respond to events and service improvements.
• Ensuring sufficient staff complement, skills availability and autonomy.
• Execute strategic objectives and develop and maintain a results-driven environment.
• Continuously develop a performance driven team culture by setting and aligning targets, seeking out multi-stakeholder feedback reviews on team output.
• Collaborate with fellow peers and engage with stakeholders such as support and service teams, risk and compliance, human resources to drive a distinguished and highly developed team.
• Manage relationships that foster a creative, engaged, high-performing environment
• Continuously work toward the implementation of processes and controls that foster an effective Retail Department.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant and applicable tertiary qualification, e.g. BCom.
• 3 continuous years’ experience as a team leader in a similar industry.
• Knowledge of Pension Fund Act, IFRS, Income Tax Act, Long Term Insurance Act, CISCA, JSE regulations.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.

• Report any suspicion that a client, investor, or employee may be involved in money laundering, fraud or any other crime to Risk and Compliance.
• Be alert to possible risk and compliance issues within the general business.
• Report any possible and actual breaches, errors, or complaints to Risk and Compliance.
• Ensure best practice is followed to maintain confidentiality and security of all company data, client data and property.
• Ensure regulatory, client, and other corporate records are maintained.
• Ensure timely completion of all risks and compliance training.
