Core Description

Manage a portfolio of litigation matters for and against Telkom Group. Responsible for drafting, vetting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements. Be a subject matter expert and provide trusted legal advice to senior members of the team and internal clients. Ensure proper governance by identifying, reporting and managing legal risks within portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

Manage litigation matters for and against Telkom Group in various fora.
Manage external attorneys, advocates and other stakeholders.
Manage the resolution of disputes.
Review and analyse settlement proposals on disputes with suppliers and customers 
Work with portfolios in regard to obtaining the best possible settlement outcome for the Telkom Group. 
Negotiating all applicable contracts/ service level agreements on behalf of the Telkom Group and subsidiaries with internal and external parties.
Providing legal advice to Telkom Group within portfolio.
Researching and providing legal guidance, including training, on applicable legislation for compliance purposes.
Providing legal support and assistance to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Drafting opinions/ submissions/ memoranda/ reports to internal stakeholders at various levels in Telkom Group. 
Identify, manage and monitor legal risks within Telkom Group, as well as its client to whom the company provides services.
Provide training to internal and external stakeholders.

Experience

5 Years relevant experience

Additional Information

Qualification and experience: 
3-year Degree in Law.
Relevant experience in litigation, drafting and negotiation of contracts.

Special requirements:
Knowledge of the ICT industry.
Ability to independently deliver high quality outputs timeously within highly pressurized deadlines.
Ability to apply a business strategy to a legal principle.
