💼 Purpose of the Role
The Fraud Investigator: ADP is responsible for investigating fraud incidents across digital and alternative payment channels (EFT, wallets, QR, A2A). The role focuses on identifying emerging digital fraud typologies, analysing behavioural patterns, and supporting rapid response to minimise losses.
🔍 Key Responsibility Areas
Fraud Monitoring & Case Identification
- Monitor digital payment transactions and alerts.
- Identify suspicious patterns (account takeovers, scams, mule activity).
- Escalate high-risk incidents for immediate response.
Investigation of Digital Fraud Cases
- Investigate fraud incidents across EFT, wallets, and digital channels.
- Analyse user behaviour, device data, and transaction anomalies.
- Document findings and support case resolution.
Data Analysis & Trend Monitoring
- Analyse datasets to identify emerging fraud trends.
- Support development of fraud indicators and detection rules.
- Provide insights into evolving fraud typologies.
Control Effectiveness Support
- Assist in testing and refining fraud detection tools and rules.
- Identify system or process weaknesses.
- Support improvements in fraud monitoring capabilities.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum qualification:
NQF 4
Minimum job-related experience:
Minimum 3 years working experience in similar role.
Certifications / Accreditation / Registration / Licenses:
ACFE advantageous
Legislative / Regulatory Compliance
Regulatory: Knowledge of anti-fraud, data protection, financial regulations.
