About this role

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Quality Advisor provides technical governance, assurance, and continuous improvement support across projects and operations. The role ensures effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the integrated SHEQ management system in line with applicable ISO standards and regulatory requirements, while supporting management, projects, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver compliant, high-quality outcomes.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Quality Management System (QMS) Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain and monitor compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 19443, and ASME/NQA-1 requirements
  • Review, update, and issue governances QMS procedures, templates, and work instructions
  • Verify consistent implementation of quality standards across internal processes, project sites
  • Provide technical interpretation of quality and regulatory requirements to stakeholders
  • Monitor changes to applicable standards and assess organisational impact

Auditing, Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Plan, conduct, and participate in internal, supplier, and external audits
  • Log, track, and close out audit findings, NCRs, and corrective actions
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and verify effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities for improvement (OFIs) and recommend preventive actions
  • Prepare audit reports and present findings to management and project teams

Training, Awareness & Capability Development

  • Conduct quality awareness training for employees, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Coach construction leads and project teams on quality requirements and best practices
  • Communicate quality non-conformances, trends, and improvement initiatives
  • Support development of quality competence within project and support teams
  • Promote a strong quality and safety culture across the organisation

Project & Site Quality Support

  • Support project teams with quality planning and execution requirements
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify good or sub-standard work, where necessary
  • Monitor contractor, subcontractor, and supplier quality performance
  • Provide guidance on quality-related risks, mitigations, and lessons learned

Documentation, Reporting & Management Support

  • Maintain the Quality department documents and registers
  • Compile quality performance metrics and management reports
  • Prepare documentation and inputs for SHEQ Management Review meetings
  • Support the Proposals department with the development and review of the required corporate quality and compliance documentation for proposal submission

 

QUALIFICATION

  • Technical qualification or Quality Management qualification (or equivalent)
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification or similar (SAATCA registration preferred)
  • Professional registration with a recognised professional body is advantageous (e.g. ECSA or equivalent)

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in the EPC / engineering, procurement and construction environment in a Quality Advisor or Quality Management role
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing quality management systems and procedures
  • Experience in audit management and corrective action processes
  • RCA methodology experience (advantageous)
  • Valid driver's license required

  • ISO 19011 auditing principles
  • Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) project environments
  • Project management principles (PMBOK), contract management, and planning
  • Regulatory and quality governance frameworks
  • Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
  • Nuclear industry standards and practices (advantageous)

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and project systems (e.g. IFS, Primavera, MS Project)
  • Specific experience in data analytics and data management will be advantageous
