Sales Representative: New vehicles (Trucks) | Isuzu Isando

About this role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Representative: New Vehicles (Commercial Trucks) to join our team. Reporting to the Manager: Sales, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical sales, strong prospecting capabilities, and the ability to deliver on unit and profit targets while maintaining company standards and high customer satisfaction.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively prospect for new business while maintaining and growing existing fleet accounts.
  • Drive sales volumes and gross profit targets for new truck inventory.
  • Conduct thorough technical consultative sales, including vehicle walk-arounds, specification matching, and test drives.
  • Ensure full compliance with company sales policies, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and local legal requirements.
  • Accurately record deal files, register vehicle transactions, and assist with managing aged stock and outstanding debtor/creditor processes.
  • Maintain close communication with body builders, upfitters, and internal service teams to ensure accurate on-time vehicle delivery.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager on daily pipeline reviews, promotional activities, and pricing updates.

Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Strong negotiation and deal-closing capability.
  • Financial acumen relating to vehicle finance, margins, and trade-ins.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a target-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail regarding legal paperwork and deal structuring.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Valid Driver's License (Code 8 minimum required; Code 10/14 with PDP preferred).
  • Clear criminal and credit record.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience (preferably within the commercial vehicle, motor industry, or related capital equipment sector).
  • Demonstrated volume sales experience and understanding of OEM & dealership processes.
  • Working knowledge of CMS or CRM systems
