The Head of Product & Integrated Marketing (VAS) is a senior marketing leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering Pick n Pay's product and Value-Added Services (VAS) marketing strategy. The role leads the development and execution of integrated, commercially impactful campaigns across key product territories identified as strategic growth drivers, with the objective of strengthening brand equity, deepening customer engagement, increasing market share, and driving sustainable sales growth.As a member of the Marketing Exco, this role provides strategic direction across product marketing, VAS, and key partnership portfolios, ensuring alignment between customer, commercial, and brand objectives. The incumbent manages significant marketing investment, and works closely with executive leadership, merchant teams, and agency partners to deliver measurable business outcomes and exceptional customer experiences across all touchpoints.
Minimum Qualification Required
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Commerce, Business Management or related field.
Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Business or Commerce advantageous.
Product Marketing certification advantageous.
Minimum Experience Required
Minimum 8-10 years' experience in retail, FMCG, financial services, telecommunications, or consumer-focused marketing environments.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior marketing leadership role.
Proven experience in:
Product marketing and go-to-market execution.
Integrated marketing campaign development and management.
Category and portfolio marketing.
VAS or services marketing.
Through-the-line (TTL) marketing across ATL, BTL, digital, shopper, retail media, and in-store channels.
Influencer and cultural marketing.

Key Responsibilities
Product & Category Marketing Leadership
Develop and lead product and category marketing strategies aligned to business objectives.
Identify and prioritise hero SKUs, strategic categories, seasonal opportunities, and innovation launches.
Create compelling product-led narratives that drive customer relevance, consideration, and purchase.
Develop go-to-market frameworks, launch plans, toolkits, and communication strategies for new and existing products.
Drive category growth through customer insight, cultural relevance, and retail activation.
VAS Marketing Leadership
Own and execute the integrated marketing strategy for the VAS portfolio.
Lead campaign planning and execution for VAS offerings aligned to commercial priorities.
Grow market share, customer penetration, brand awareness, and revenue across VAS solutions.
Lead marketing efforts related to the FNB and Pick n Pay partnership.
Develop marketing plans that support VAS growth across Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, ASAP!, and digital channels.
Secure and manage third-party funding opportunities and strategic marketing partnerships.
Integrated Campaign Management
Lead end-to-end integrated marketing campaigns across product, category, and VAS portfolios.
Coordinate with brand, media, creative, trading, retail media, and store operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
Ensure campaigns are executed consistently across all customer touchpoints, including digital, social, influencer, CRM, retail media, and in-store environments.
Manage the annual and seasonal marketing calendars and ensure timely delivery of all campaign initiatives.
Work closely with agencies and internal teams to deliver best-in-class creative outputs.
Cultural, Influencer & Shopper Marketing
Build culturally relevant and commercially effective campaigns that connect products and services with customer needs.
Leverage influencer, creator, social media, and content platforms to drive awareness and engagement.
Monitor emerging trends and rapidly activate opportunities that align with brand and business objectives.
Design and scale campaign toolkits for implementation across stores, platforms, and formats.
Performance & Commercial Delivery
Define and monitor key performance indicators including sales uplift, market share growth, penetration, engagement, ROI, earned media, and brand performance.
Analyse campaign effectiveness and apply insights to optimise future marketing investments.
Manage budgets effectively while identifying cost-saving and value-creation opportunities.
Deliver regular performance reporting and strategic recommendations to leadership.
